You Can’t Fool the Universe: Why “Fake It Until You Make It” Doesn’t Work

The universe isn’t responding to your carefully curated image. It’s responding to your energetic baseline, your felt sense, your belief patterns, and your nervous system’s state.

We’ve all heard it: “Fake it until you make it.”

    Say the right thing.

Smile when you don’t mean it.

Show up like everything’s already perfect, even when your inner world feels like it’s crumbling.

    It sounds clever. Strategic, even.
And for a while, maybe it works.
But nothing changes, nothing gets better.

Because while your words are saying one thing…
your energy is saying something entirely different.

    You can’t fake alignment.
    You can’t trick embodiment.
And you absolutely can’t fool the universe.

    The Illusion of Faking It

“Fake it till you make it” encourages pretending:
    Pretend to be confident.
    Pretend to be abundant.
    Pretend to believe in yourself.

But pretending doesn’t create lasting transformation; it creates disconnect.
It asks you to perform a version of yourself that doesn’t yet exist.

Instead of bringing you closer to who you want to be, it often reinforces the belief that who you are right now isn’t enough.

Energetic Mismatch: When Words and Vibes Don’t Line Up

The universe isn’t responding to your carefully curated image.
It’s responding to your energetic baseline — your felt sense, your belief patterns, your nervous system’s state.

You can say all the right affirmations, but if your body is still in survival mode, bracing for disappointment… that energy gets broadcast louder than any mantra.

This is why repeating “I am abundant” doesn’t work if your entire system is vibrating in lack and scarcity.

    The result? You feel frustrated.
    Because deep down, you know:

“It’s not real, I’m just pretending.”

    What Embodiment Actually Means

    Embodiment isn’t performance — it’s permission.
It’s the process of living, breathing, and relating from the energy you want to experience, even in small ways.

To embody confidence doesn’t mean pretending you have it all figured out.
It means taking a single breath before speaking.
It means showing up as you are and trusting that it’s enough.

To embody abundance doesn’t mean maxing out a credit card to “prove” you believe.
It means choosing generosity when it feels authentic, and not performative.
It means softening your grip on control, not swinging to extremes.

    Embodiment is subtle.
It’s rooted in truth, not appearance.

Why You Can’t Embody Through Force

When you’re dysregulated — chronically anxious, disconnected, exhausted — your system doesn’t feel safe to “step into” something new.
This is where faking it becomes dangerous.

It teaches your body that how you really feel isn’t valid.
It trains your system to mask instead of integrate.
And it often deepens the wounds you’re trying to heal.

Embodiment honors the truth of where you are and the frequency of where you want to go.
It creates a bridge between the two.

    From Faking to Feeling

So what do you do instead?

    💧 Start with small signals.
Ask yourself: How would the desired version of me move through today?
Not only “what would she wear, but also " how would she breathe? Speak? Choose?

💧 Work with your nervous system.
Safety and embodiment go hand in hand. You can’t hold a higher frequency if your system is still bracing for “disaster”.

    💧 Choose integrity over impression.
Be honest with yourself. Acting “as if” might look impressive, but does it feel right?

    Final Thought

You don’t have to fake confidence to become confident.
You don’t have to fake peace to find peace.
You don’t have to pretend to be the woman you’re becoming — you can practice being her.

Because when you’re aligned in energy, intention, and action, the universe doesn’t need to be convinced.

    It simply responds.
